Colbi B. is a versatile higher education professional who has had a variety of roles in the academic community. With extensive experience in policy, research, and on-campus leadership, Colbi has become an expert in student engagement, development, and equity in higher education.
Before pursuing a PhD in Adult and Higher Education at the University of Oklahoma, Colbi completed a Master's degree in Student Affairs at the University of Central Oklahoma and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism at the University of Oklahoma.
Colbi has held several positions, including Coordinator for Academic Affairs and K-12 & Postsecondary Student Success Initiatives at Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Director of Student Engagement, Senior Coordinator of First-Year Experience, Assistant Director of Student Development, and Coordinator of Student Life at Oklahoma City University. These roles have given Colbi extensive experience developing programs and initiatives that create a positive college experience for students.
As a PhD candidate, Colbi's research interests lie in critical quantitative research on equity and access to higher education. Colbi's well-rounded educational background and professional experience give her a unique insight into the challenges facing students and educators in the modern academic landscape.
