Tippet was established to extend the impact of leaders, whether it be brands or people aiming to transform an aspect of their business. I serve clients in multiple forms: interim or fractional CMO to help bridge a divide, brand and strategic marketing consultant to augment teams or deliver team training in Solution Selling (consultative) Skills, Advance Presentation Skills or Dynamic Workshop Facilitation. Additionally, I offer fly fishing retreats for teams of 3-6.  Learning to fly fish is a practice whose fundamentals are quick and easy analogies to the "transformation" needs of a business learning to do things differently.  The Driftless area of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa provide easy access to an outdoor experience that is restorative and energizing and simply different from traditional team retreats.

As head of Global Marketing for Ergotron, my role was to create global demand for a broad product portfolio in multiple categories (Office, Healthcare, Education, and Pro Furniture) across multiple customer touchpoints (two-tiered distribution/resellers and direct to customer).  With significant competitive headwinds presenting compelling offerings, we modernized the brand look and feel of Ergotron and increased our investment in conventional and unconventional media tactics.

The refreshed Ergotron identity was informed through a renewed strategic foundation (Vision, Purpose and Positioning) and resulted in a redesigned logo and global identity system, redesigned website and D2C eCommerce business, Amazon channel, established product marketing competency and an emboldened a 30-person marketing team with a multi-million dollar budget. We implemented Salesforce and broadened the platform into marketing functions (email, sales lead, MQL to SQL) to support a "one-view" vision of our marketing attribution needs. Content marketing was key to generating qualified leads and our thought leadership in ergonomics was sought after by Ergonomists, Safety and Wellness Directors and overall human strategy directions at Fortune 500 companies.

In honor of my late grandfather, Roger Coleson, The Upper Garden was a non-profit organization I started in the wee hours of the day when I didn't need to work or be there for my family.

Through a partnership with a non-profit organization called EMERGE in North Minneapolis, we used the back lot of a vacant gas station to create a raised urban garden for at-risk youth starting in April through August.  We challenged the kids to believe in the power of sun, soil and seed - with a healthy dose of patience and stewardship.  In the end, the kids reaped what they sowed (literally) and developed a new skill and love for fresh food.

Overall responsibility was to insert Sapient into prospect client organizations, coordinate teams internally and over deliver to ensure future revenue opportunities.  Co-developed two-day consultative selling course for the company and facilitated well over 30 classes that trained approximately 450 across the globe.

Serving as the National office's field management team, my responsibilities included traveling to our chapters on college campuses throughout the academic year to spend 2-3 days assessing each chapter and providing leadership training.  Therefore, I quickly learned how to build quick rapport and credibility, rapid assessment of the needs of the chapter and "on-the-fly" consulting to address those needs.  This is also where I honed my "road warrior" and "how to pack a car" skills.
