Guy Kinnear
Guy Kinnear is a well-established figurative artist and art instructor, based in Southern California and the Central Coast. He has a passion for the human form and specializes in traditional media and sensory communication. Kinnear has an impressive educational background, including a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Traditional Media and Sensory Communication from the San Francisco Art Institute, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Fine/Studio Arts from Azusa Pacific University, and Art/General Studies from Cuesta College.
Kinnear has an extensive background in art instruction, having taught courses in Drawing & Painting, Figurative Lab, Art Critique Theory, The Body in Art, and Professional Artist Development. He has worked as an Art Instructor for Middle School-High School students at the San Luis Obispo Classical Academy, an MFA Instructor at Azusa Pacific University, an Associate Professor of Painting & Drawing at Azusa Pacific University, and an Art & Wood Shop Teacher at Bridgemont High School. Additionally, he has worked as a Bronze Welder and Chaser at Metal Arts Sculpture Center, broadening his horizons and informing his artistic practice.
Currently, Kinnear operates Kinnear Studio, where he works as a Professional Artist & Art Educator. He is dedicated to sharing his extensive knowledge and expertise with students and aspiring artists alike. With a keen eye for the human form and a passion for traditional media, Kinnear brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to his work.
