Maxine Bédat is a legal expert, fashion industry leader, and Director of NSI Fashion 2030, advocating for sustainable fashion practices. A graduate of Columbia University School of Law, Maxine also holds a BA in Political Science and Economics from the same institution.
Maxine previously served as CEO and Co-Founder of Zady, an ethical fashion marketplace that championed sustainable clothing. Prior to that, she worked as a Law Clerk at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and as an Officer at the Permanent Mission of Belize to the United Nations.
With her extensive knowledge of both legal matters and fashion industry trends, Maxine is a leading voice in the push for ethical and sustainable fashion practices. She recently authored "Unraveled: The Life and Death of a Garment," a book exploring the lifecycle of a piece of clothing and its impact on people and the planet.
