Ben Aris is an experienced journalist with a specialization in Russia and emerging Europe and Central Asia. Over his 25-year career, he has worked for notable publications such as the Daily Telegraph, Financial Times, Newsweek, and The Moscow Times. He has also been a contributing editor for Euromoney and The Banker. Ben has an extensive education background, with degrees in physics, history, philosophy, economics, and several languages from Imperial College London and the University of Brighton International College.
In 2006, Ben founded business new europe (bne.eu) and has been editor-in-chief ever since. He is also the publisher of Newsbase and the majority shareholder at bne IntelliNews. Additionally, Ben has worked in consultancy as Renaissance Asset Managers' consultant and Petrovis' IR. He has covered significant political events such as the end of the Yeltsin era and the start of Putin's term, including the second Chechen war.
