Lauren Luna is an accomplished artist, designer, and educator with an impressive background in Fine Arts and Special Education. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Luna moved to New York City after graduating from Kent State University. She began teaching Special Education for New York City schools and simultaneously pursued a Masters program at Manhattan College. After graduation, she returned to her hometown and continued teaching while furthering her education by enrolling in the Academy of Art University for another Master's degree in Fine Arts. In 2011, Luna decided to follow her passion as a full-time artist and footwear designer, relocating to Houston, Texas.

Her exceptional talent and creativity have landed her numerous accolades, including being named a Top 50 Entrepreneur by Scion Car Company, participating in Austin and Houston Fashion Week, being featured in British Vogue and Glamour Magazines, and having a shoe design showcased in an exhibit in the Grassi Museum in Germany. Additionally, Luna was honored to receive the Margot Siegel Award for Design by the Goldstein Museum, which included two pairs of her hand-painted shoes in the museum's permanent collection.

Luna's notable achievements continued when she won Best In Show at a juried art competition in 2015, resulting in recognition by the Alvin Independent School District School Board and being entered into the Congressional Record. She regularly participates in local art festivals, has a mural at the George R. Brown Convention Center, and was even subject to a proclamation by the Mayor of the City of Houston, designating July 11th as Lauren Luna Day!

Currently, Luna is an art professor at Lone Star and San Jacinto Colleges and co-president of the D.R.E.A.M Affect Foundation, a non-profit organization that awards scholarships to minority art students pursuing Fine Arts and grants for emerging artists to show their work. Luna's passion for her craft and dedication to supporting her community make her a true inspiration to all.
