Ryokichi Onishi

Ryokichi Onishi is a renowned Principal Engineer and manager of End-to-End Computing Group, Connected Advanced Development Division at Toyota Motor Corporation, with expertise in data-driven vehicle design improvement, high definition map creation/distribution, intelligent driving system with machine learning, and remote monitoring/control of automated driving systems. With an engineering career spanning over 19 years, Ryokichi has worked on several projects, including DSRC-based communication models and floating car data collection. Ryokichi has a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from the University of Tokyo, having earned 29 patents by the U.S. Patent Office. Apart from his current position at Toyota, Ryokichi is also an Executive Advisor at Woven Planet Holdings, previously serving as an Executive Advisor at Toyota Research Institute - Advanced Development, Group Leader/Principal Architect at TOYOTA InfoTechnology Center Co., Ltd., and WG1 Chairperson at Automotive Edge Computing Consortium.
