Jörg Abalos Vollmer is a prominent figure in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, known for his significant knowledge and proven ability in managing small companies, identifying and implementing new business and research opportunities, and directing pre-clinical drug research and development up to IND-relevant and clinical Phase 1 studies. With a strong background in immunology, oncology, vaccinology, infectious diseases, autoimmunity, allergy, and metabolic disorders, he has been involved in the discovery of virus, nucleic acid, peptide and small molecule drug leads, leading to their development up to IND-relevant and clinical phase I/II studies. He is the Chief Scientific Officer at Abalos Therapeutics GmbH and has previously worked at Nexigen GmbH, Pfizer Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Unit, Coley Pharmaceutical Group, Rigontec GmbH, and Silence Therapeutics plc.
