Carol Mimura is a prominent figure in the field of intellectual property and industry research, with a wealth of experience spanning academia, research, and industry. Mimura has a Ph.D. in Biology from Boston University and a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University. She also undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship at UC Berkeley.

Mimura has held various positions throughout her career, including Assistant Vice Chancellor for Intellectual Property & Industry Research Alliances (IPIRA) at UC Berkeley, Executive Director, Director, Senior Life Sciences Licensing Officer and Licensing Officer at UC Berkeley's Office of Technology Licensing.
