Jannum Kruidhof
Jannum Kruidhof is a versatile and passionate musician, composer, and arranger based in Rotterdam. He received his Bachelor's in Music Education from an undisclosed institution and completed his studies in composition with Guus Janssen at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. He continues to study composition with Hans Koolmees.
Jannum's music transcends genres as he constantly innovates with classical, jazz, world music, and pop sounds. He is also interested in multidisciplinary collaborations with artists from dance, film, painting, and theatre. Over the years, Jannum has collaborated with Florence Rapati and her dance company, Flow Performing Arts. Additionally, he has made arrangements and compositions for various artists.
In the summer of 2013, Jannum got injured and could no longer play the violin. Out of this setback, he turned to composing and started Walking The Wire, a collective devoted to exploring new sounds and ideas. Jannum finds inspiration in societal issues, nature, Manja, his wife, concerts, and faith. In his words, he hopes to create music that can potentially touch people's lives.
