John Spinks is a seasoned Senior Principal Technical Marketing Manager for Red Hat, with extensive experience in Management products such as Satellite and Insights. Prior to this role, he spent almost a decade working as a Technical Marketing Engineer for NetApp in RTP, NC, where he specialized in SnapCenter and the Snap Creator Framework. Some of his other areas of expertise include hypervisors, VMware, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, DB2, and Domino.

John's educational background features Strayer University where he studied MS in Communications Technology & BS in Internetworking Technology. He also attended Western Carolina University.

In his free time, John likes to spend time with his family, enjoys camping, reading, and volunteers with the Boy Scouts. Though he admits writing about himself, especially in the third person, can be awkward.
