Jon Foster, a seasoned expert in Asian financial markets, is renowned for his ability to build and manage research-driven businesses to create distinctive value for global institutional investors. Having co-founded Smartkarma, an independent research network backed by Sequoia Capital in 2014, he has disrupted the traditional research landscape and changed the way market participants engage with research in the region.

Foster's career spans over 15 years, with a focus on equity special situations across both the buy and sell sides. He brings his extensive experience to Smartkarma, creating a new collaboration model for investors through the tested and unique global community, helping them add and extract value to their portfolios. Foster holds a degree in Economics and Finance from RMIT University, and his early education was at The Minster School, Southwell.
