Ian LaMalfa is a well-educated and experienced professional with a background in sustainable urban environments and civil engineering, as well as interactive multimedia. He holds a high school diploma from Rutgers Preparatory School, a B.S. in Sustainable Urban Environments & Civil Engineering from New York University, and a B.A. in Interactive Multimedia from The College of New Jersey.

He has held various positions, including Estimation Manager, Project Estimator, and Project Engineer at National Elevator Cab & Door Corp. Prior to that, he worked as a staff engineer in the Site/Civil Dept. and as an intern at Langan Engineering & Environmental Services. He also gained experience in the field of agriculture as a Greenhouse Assistant at Gotham Greens and as an intern at Rasi Laboratories.
