Sara Jacobs is a highly accomplished American politician, policy advisor, and non-profit executive committed to fostering social justice, political engagement, and economic opportunity. She was born on February 1, 1989, in San Diego, California, and grew up in the area attending Torrey Pines High School. She completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University, obtaining a degree in political science, human rights, and the Middle East. She later received a Master of International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy.

Jacobs began her career as a humanitarian aid worker for global organizations such as UNICEF and the International Rescue Committee, working to support vulnerable children and families affected by the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and Jordan. In 2015, she moved back to the United States to work as a policy advisor for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. After the campaign, she worked for UNICEF's Innovation Unit and as a research fellow at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego.

In 2018, Jacobs ran for US Congress in California's 49th congressional district, narrowly losing the election to incumbent Republican Darrell Issa. Following the election, she co-founded and served as the CEO of Project Connect, a nonprofit that aimed to increase political engagement and civic participation, particularly among young people and marginalized communities.

In 2020, Jacobs ran for the US House of Representatives again, this time in California's 53rd congressional district, and won the election. She has since served on several committees, including the Foreign Affairs Committee, Education and Labor Committee, and the Science, Space, and Technology Committee. She is also an advocate for climate action, social justice, and women's rights.
