A new edtech startup inside the American Museum of Natural History (yes! really!), BridgeUp: STEM is a portfolio of programs dedicated to teaching computer science through the lens of science to captivate, inspire, and propel girls and minorities into STEM in college and career. Founded in 2014, it is funded by a generous 5-year, $7.5M grant from the Helen Gurley Brown Trust.

BridgeUp: STEM's signature program is the Brown Scholars, offering a tuition-free 3-year after-school experience for high school girls including coursework in Python, SQL, and data visualization; paid computational research internships alongside museum scientists; and a college and career readiness colloquium. The Helen Fellowship offers a paid post-baccalaureate year for recent grads who split their time between teaching in the Brown Scholars program and conducting their own computational research in collaboration with an AMNH curator. BridgeUp: STEM also hosts an annual hackathon and other public programming and outreach.

Quincy Apparel was a vertically-integrated e-commerce brand for young, ambitious women. Created with real bodies in mind, Quincy devised a proprietary sizing algorithm that allowed it to make semi-custom clothes at an off-the-rack price. Beloved by its customers but unable to raise funding past its $1M seed round, Quincy shut its doors in 2013.

Christina regularly speaks and teaches about her experience building and ultimately shutting down Quincy, including a frank assessment of why she and her co-founder failed. She also collaborated with HBS professor Tom Eisenmann in his case study on Quincy Apparel, published by Harvard Business Press.

The Metropolitan Opera is a vibrant home for the most creative and talented singers, conductors, composers, musicians, stage directors, designers, visual artists, choreographers, and dancers from around the world. It is the largest classical music organization in North America, presenting about 27 different operas each year in a season which lasts from late September through May.

The Rehearsal Associate role was a mix of artist management and operations work, crafting and optimizing rehearsal schedules for a dozen different artist groups across 30+ operas in repertory each season.
