Founder and CEO

Since its founding in 1940, the Community Council has identified services that are needed in the community, assessed how best services could be delivered to meet social issues, and mobilized and implemented action plans working in concert with its member agencies and public sector resources.

Pervasive issues over time have included juvenile delinquency and welfare; seniors; public health; daycare; and legislative advocacy. The Community Council met these challenges through fact-based research, deploying volunteers, incubating new services and agencies, expanding government programs where appropriate, convening collaborative work and delivering selected direct services.

The Community Council’s research and action plans resulted in the incubation and birth of new social services including:

Chief Executive Officer

Transformance, Inc (formerly Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Greater Dallas) is a 43-year-old non-profit with a rich history of helping individuals transition out of poverty. Responding to the changing economic environment, the agency transformed its portfolio of offerings to expand its reach and create sustainable and measurable impact. In addition to its previous offerings of debt management, housing and savings education and counseling, the enhanced Transformance model includes three distinctive and differentiating premises.

First, Transformance is creating learning systems that focus on financial capability through behavioral changes and prevention, rather than crisis intervention alone.

Second, Transformance understands that its mission is only achievable through the coordinated and focused collaboration of many organizations. Partnering with private, public and government organizations, the agency is developing an integrated service delivery model patterned after the evidence-based Working Families Success Network (WFSN) which bundles three key services:  a) financial coaching and learning, b) employment support, and c) improved coordination and access to social services.

The third leg of the model focuses on the use of technology to enhance scalability, including innovative e-learning and mobile applications designed to empower individuals from all socio-economic groupings to take initiative to increase their financial capability and security.

Reporting to the President, Preparedness and Health and Safety Services, and accountable for strategic leadership in the profitable development of the Healthcare and Workplace Safety product portfolios - including marketing, distribution, sales, and full P&L responsibilities.  Directs a team of professionals comprised of sales, product management and technologists, serving multiple channels. Accountable for the launch, growth, measurement, research and ongoing management of an increasingly wider range of products and services that improve community emergency readiness.  Also responsible for expanding business segments to meet strategic goals for both profitability and revenue growth.

The American Red Cross is a historic organization that works every day to prevent and alleviate human suffering. In other words, we help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. We provide domestic disaster relief, blood collection and distribution services, preparedness information, health and safety training, service to the armed forces, and international services.

Member of the Corporate Management Team and Divisional Executive Leadership Team, Corporate CRM Steering Committee, lead a team including two levels of management (national directors, directors, and national field sales team) responsible for account management, business development, inside sales, call center and field operations for the Emergency Cardiovascular Care division – the for-profit division of corporation.

Responsible for full P&L, sales force effectiveness and market growth, creating new business opportunities and developing fully-integrated business models to accelerate long-term revenue growth and net-profitability opportunities. Markets include Integrated Health Systems, Fortune 1,000 organizations and large municipalities within major MSAs, EMS and Fire organizations.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
-  Exceeded revenue and P&L goals for previous two fiscal years by 20 percent, increased revenue by over 40% this fiscal year – best financial performance in organization history.

-  Developed first new business model approved by the Association that will fundamentally change our business approach, goaled with new revenue generation of $10M by 2013.

-  Developed streamlined sales force effectiveness processes and measurement tools to support expanded pipeline development and revenue opportunities for the sales organization.

-  Created new consultative selling skills model for use by sales and marketing organizations, increasing consistency of execution and overall performance.

Managed market analysis, new business development as well as created custom solutions for the Payer market nationally. Created and executed market expansion for business process outsourcing strategies for health plans.

Produced new delivery model, which incorporated claims and medical management processes to existing solution strategies. Leveraged Corporate Performance Management (CPM) techniques to improve client performance and profitability.

Sold and participated in consulting engagements using business process improvement methodologies. Produced new business and expanded relationships within existing client base.

Independent Management Consultant

Led a team of experienced sales and technical professionals in a newly-formed healthcare vertical responsible for leveraging Microsoft’s software products within top Life Sciences markets, including global pharmaceutical manufacturers and integrated healthcare systems.

Developed strategic business development and solution rollout plans and expanded existing and new client base. Guided consulting practice and built unique delivery models and custom solution opportunities.

Developed strategic alliances with key domain-specific ISVs and SIs. Responsible for budgets, sales forecasts, and reporting for salaries and expenses.

- Executed business plans and strategies that surpassed corporate objectives.

- Exceeded all revenue targets prior the end of FY 2004 by at least 20% .

- Generated more than $75+ million in total new revenue, including securing the largest single enterprise agreement in the healthcare vertical in FY 2003.

- Produced portfolio of new business processes for development, management, market and competitive positioning, pricing and customer service. Improved financial planning analysis and reporting.

- Bioinformatics organization which provides technology platform to accelerate medical and academic research in disease management, treatment and drug discovery.)

Reporting to the CEO, introduced strategic plans, financial controls, alliance strategies, and growth initiatives, which improved revenues, strengthened business practices, and enhanced reporting and forecasting capabilities. Projected oversight, processes and organizational consistency, optimizing net profitability of the division.

Created financial estimates and operating margins required to validate business plans for Round-A venture funding. Recruited by CEO to reverse a rapidly eroding financial position - did so within 12 months.
