Robert Bennett is a well-versed strategic and statutory planner with over 25 years of experience navigating complex legal, logistical, and political issues associated with large-scale developments. With extensive experience in the UK, Nigeria, and the US, Robert has held senior leadership positions in both government and private sector organizations, including Lendlease Communities and Delfin Lend Lease.
During his tenure as the State Planning Manager NSW/ACT at Lendlease Communities, Robert advised on strategic planning and statutory planning issues, represented Lendlease on the PCA & UDIA committees, and was a member of the Committee for Sydney Task Force. In his public sector experience, he worked with several NSW Government agencies to lead the team delivering the long-term planning strategy for Sydney Harbour, including the REP, access program and governance structure.
Robert's impressive portfolio includes notable developments such as Bingara Gorge, Calderwood, and Rouse Hill Regional Centre in Australia, and involvement with the UK's largest ever DA by a private company (Ebbsfleet) and planning for Kent Thameside, a development corporation led by private sector comprising of 50,000 people and 30,000 jobs on the principles of public transit-oriented development.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Town & Country Planning from The University of Manchester. Currently serving as the Director of Urban & Regional Planning at Elton Consulting, Robert brings his valuable experience, skills, and expertise to the forefront helping create actionable solutions for organizations dealing with complex planning challenges.
