Debra Whitman, PhD, is a renowned economist and Chief Public Policy Officer for AARP, the largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering Americans over 50. With a strong background in economics, Dr. Whitman has served in both academic and governmental roles, including stints with the National Academy of Medicine and the Social Security Administration. Her expertise includes topics such as aging, retirement, and healthcare, and she has authored numerous publications and research papers in her field. Dr. Whitman also serves on various advisory boards and councils, such as the Global Future Council on Longevity at the World Economic Forum. Her current focus is on advocating for policies and programs that promote the welfare and quality of life of older Americans.
