Mark Preston is a skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer with a background in investment management. He has specific expertise in alternative investments, particularly hedge funds. Mark is a leader with a passion for driving shareholder value and has a technical and analytical skillset.

As a registered director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, Mark currently serves as a director on the board of a leading alternative investment manager based in South Africa, Laurium Capital (Pty) Ltd. In his previous roles as COO and CFO, he developed extensive knowledge across the investment management industry, with a focus on financial and operational best practices, fund administration and prime broking, fund structuring, tax, accounting, corporate governance, capital raising, and investor communication.

Mark is a CA(SA) and CFA Charterholder and has worked at Deloitte in both their South African and Bermudan offices, involved in various engagements in the alternative investment industry. He holds a B.Bus.Sci in finance honors from the University of Cape Town, along with a post-graduate diploma in Accounting (PDGA).
