Tom Emrich is a leading thought leader in emerging technologies, including augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and wearable technology. Currently, he serves as the Director of Product Management at Niantic, Inc, where he leads product and marketing for 8th Wall, a powerful development platform that offers web-based AR. Prior to this, Tom founded We Are Wearables, which grew to be the largest wearable tech community of its kind before its acquisition by AugmentedReality(dot)org. At AWE, Tom produced conferences and expos, growing the AWE community to over a quarter of a million worldwide. He is also a founding partner at Super Ventures, a Silicon Valley-based VC fund dedicated to early-staging investing in AR. Tom's past experience also includes covering the AR/VR/Wearables space as a freelance journalist for tech publications, and as a featured wearable tech expert on a recurring TV segment on Canada's largest morning show, CTV's Canada AM.
