Project Manager

In January 2020 I got promoted to Project Manager within the Olympic Team. In addition to my current tasks, I became project leader for the Paralympic project and had the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences with ATPI's Canadien Olympic Team. As ATPI being one organisation, while dealing with two main clients (the Canadien COC and the Dutch NOC), strong communication skills were needed to get all interests represented. I therefore had the great opportunity to develop my communication and management skills even more.

As the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 were unfortunately postponed due to COVID-19, ATPI had to restructure their operations. As a result of this, I will unfortunately no longer be part of this great company and fantastic Olympic team from November 2020 onwards.

Project Manager - Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

After six months of working for ATPI I was asked to become part of the Olympic Team of ATPI's Sports Department. As ATPI being the official ticket reseller for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, I was asked to become Ticketing Manager for the summer Olympics in Tokyo 2020. In this role I was responsible for the communication between ATPI and the International Organizing Committee, but I was also involved with the communication between the Dutch NOC and NPC, Dutch Federations, Partners and Sponsors, corporates, etcetera. As the Olympic Games are one of the biggest global events, I had to be aware of many different interests, while purchasing and selling official Game tickets to all different stakeholders. Communication skills, Revenue Management and risk analyses where therefore top priority.

ATPI is a worldwide corporate travel and event organisation, which has different focus markets. As a Junior Project Manager I have been working at the Corporate Events department. Within this department I was organizing event productions, business meetings and Incentive trips all over the world. All events were organized from A to Z, whereby I've worked very closely together with ATPI's local partners around the globe.

Additionally on the 11th floor of the hotel you will find the award-winning rooftop lounge 'Skylounge Amsterdam'. It is a stylish meeting place with baristas, cocktail experts and a DJ daily. From the top floor, guests can enjoy an amazing 360-degree view of the historic town, Amsterdam.

As a Groups, Conference & Events Executive I have been responsible for the entire process of bookings from quotation to contracting and internal coordination.

In 2016 I started at Pino Communication  -  Events  -  Congresses, one of the few event agencies in the Netherlands that is a certified Congress Organisation Agency. During my time at Pino I organised many different kinds of events. The goal of this management internship was to learn all the steps that are required in order to organize events from A to Z. Moreover, I got the chance to organize an event on my own. I have organized different types of events like corporate events, congresses and conferences. As an Event Project Manager at Pino I made myself capable for a job in the (international) events industry.

Project Manager (Intern)

The Ants is a non-profit organisation working on development issues in the northeast of India. Its mandate is to showcase handlooms and crafts that are made in this area, to generate and sustain livelihoods and underscore the positive features of the communities living in the northeast.

Besides the assistance in the northeast, the Ants also helps Indian coffee farmers by giving them support to build an independently running business and helping them to sell their coffee. I had the opportunity to do a three months marketing and sales research about the question if the Ants should start selling this coffee to enterprises in the Netherlands. The research included a research of the living conditions of the coffee farmers, a buyer behaviour analysis, a supply and demand analysis and at last a substantiated recommendation.

During my time in India I learned more about marketing and sales. Furthermore I gained more international experience and I was exposed to a culture that was almost the polar opposite of my own. I learned how to approach people with different cultural backgrounds, which made me communicatevely very strong.

Marketing and Sales (Intern)

A part of the curriculum of Hotel Management School Maastricht is a five months operational internship abroad. During this operational internship I worked at the housekeeping department of the Hamilton Crowne Plaza in Washington D.C., the United States of America. As a housekeeping supervisor I was responsible for the cleanliness of the guestrooms and public areas, the turndown service, guest request service and the showrooms for the sales department.

During this internship I improved my English, experienced another culture and learned how to interact with high-demanding guests. Working in an American hotel, I learned to be very pro-active, accurate and diligent until every guest was more than satisfied.

Housekeeping Supervisor Intern

- Landgoed Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerd' is an estate in the middle of the Netherlands. It includes two restaurants and different event locations spread over the estate.

During and in between my studies I worked here as a waitress in the restaurants, as well as in the event locations. I gained experience in hospitality, business events, leisure events and weddings.
