Dave Kirsh

Meet Dave Kirsh, a highly qualified and experienced lecturer in physics, astronomy, and general science. With advanced degrees in astrophysics from Queen's University and years of experience as a PhD candidate and as a teaching assistant at McMaster University, Dave has extensive knowledge and expertise in planet formation and migration. His passion for teaching and outreach led him to work as a tutor and math writer/editor at Oxford Learning Centres, where he developed SAT and ACT guidebooks, wrote math booklets and lessons, and created math questions and answer keys. Additionally, he has worked as a Physics Instructor at Prep101 and as a professor of physics at Fanshawe College.

Dave's love for astronomy and space science has driven him to volunteer as a radio commentator and interviewer for Star Spot and Western Worlds, which air on internet radio stations. He has also volunteered with Western CPSX's outreach program, Science Rendezvous, and as a judge for the Toronto Science Fair and the London District Science and Technology Fair. Currently, he is lecturing at Ryerson University and Humber College.

In all his classes, Dave aims to inspire his students and foster a love of science by using different teaching styles and activities. He has taught classes ranging in size from 9 to 350 students, which required him to adapt his teaching approach to meet the needs of each group.
