Shawn Kung is an experienced product operator, entrepreneur, and investor with more than 20 years of expertise in enterprise software. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from Princeton University and went on to study at Harvard Business School, Stanford University, and Beijing Normal University as part of his study abroad program. Kung's career highlights include multiple exits from early-stage to growth-stage companies, with his most notable exit being from Aster Data, which he helped grow from seed to $300 million in exit value. He also played key roles in Oracle, Ariba, NetApp, and Tenable before transitioning to venture investing. Today, Kung is a Venture Partner at AV8 Ventures, where he invests in startups focused on distributed systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, PaaS, edge IoT, and autonomous vehicles & robotics. In addition, he is an Adjunct Lecturer at Stanford University and serves as an advisor for a range of software startups including Zuora, Bitfusion, Cohesity, Armory.io, LeadIQ, Moesif, and more.
