Peter Koerkamp

Peter Koerkamp is a prominent figure in the Biosystems Engineering field with extensive experience in academia and research. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering, Agriculture from the prestigious Wageningen University & Research. Peter Koerkamp currently holds the position of Professor Biosystems Engineering at Wageningen Ur Agrotechnology & Food Sciences Group, where he leverages his expertise in animal sciences, livestock research, and agriculture to develop innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of food production systems.

Before his current role, Peter Koerkamp was a senior researcher at Wageningen Livestock Research and Wageningen Ur Animal Sciences Group, where he conducted numerous research projects on the behavior and welfare of farm animals, including pigs, poultry, and cattle. He has also worked at Imag and held academic positions at Wageningen University Fte, Dr. Ir at Wageningen Ur (University & Research Centre).

His extensive experience in biosystems engineering and agriculture, combined with his impressive research output, made him an asset in the development of interdisciplinary solutions.
