Viviana Perego
Viviana Perego is an accomplished economist with a strong background in agriculture and food systems, rural livelihoods, and competitiveness. She currently works at the World Bank, where she focuses on market access for smallholder farmers, the labor market integration of vulnerable populations, technology adoption, and food systems' resilience to climate change. Viviana holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics from the University of Oxford, where she researched the drivers of development in open economies. Prior to joining the World Bank, she collaborated with several renowned institutions such as the ILO, Unicef, the Bank of Italy, J-PAL at MIT, and the Center for the Study of African Economies at Oxford. Viviana's diverse professional experience includes working as a short-term consultant, visiting student, economist, research assistant, teaching assistant, intern, guest researcher, and one year research grantee. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Science (M.Sc) degrees in Economics from Bocconi University, where she graduated cum laude. Viviana is passionate about making a positive impact through her work and helping to build more equitable and sustainable societies.
