Dr. David Marshall, Ph.D., APR is a seasoned communication professional and academic currently serving as Full Professor and Chair of Strategic Communication at Morgan State University. With over two decades of experience in various academic leadership roles, Dr. Marshall has an impressive track record of establishing and growing communication programs, and preparing students for successful professional communication careers. He also has an extensive background in corporate public relations, where he has helped organizations craft and execute successful communication strategies.
Dr. Marshall received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy from Morgan State University and went on to earn a Master of Journalism degree in Journalism and Multimedia, as well as a Ph.D. in Mass Media and Communication, both from Temple University. He has held several academic leadership positions throughout his career, including serving as Chair and Professor of Strategic Communication at Morgan State University, Program Chair in Communication Studies and Collegiate Professor at University of Maryland University College, and President at International College of the Cayman Islands.
Dr. Marshall has received various accolades in his field, including being named PRSA Maryland Educator of The Year and President of PRSA Maryland. He is also the assessment coordinator and Twitter manager for Morgan State University's School of Global Journalism & Communication.
