Bernard Cheng is a highly accomplished legal professional in the Asia Pacific region, with significant experience in property development, energy, industrials and infrastructure investment. Currently serving as Vice President and General Counsel at SPG Capital, Cheng's primary role is to spearhead and steer investment efforts across Asia, with a focus on optimizing deal structure, structuring acquisitions, advising on critical issues, and leading legal due diligence. Prior to this, Cheng worked at Clifford Chance, where he was a senior associate on the corporate team, advising private equity funds, state-owned enterprises and funds, multinational conglomerates on inbound and outbound acquisitions in power/utilities, oil & gas, renewables and technologies. Cheng has five and half years' experience in mergers and acquisitions, including drafting transaction documents and negotiating deals. He is also admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
