Bryon Dickens is a renowned mentor, author, and inventor who has dedicated his life to mentoring and empowering young students to be better individuals. For over six years, he has served as the architect and director of the highly acclaimed Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) mentorship program, Students Connecting with Mentors for Success (SCMS), providing academic support, post-graduation preparation, and character development to its participants. SCMS has won many national awards such as the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Charles Kennedy Equity Award and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Advancing Diversity Award of Excellence. Bryon has received many prestigious awards, including the 2019 Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Outstanding Mentor of the Year Award, the 2018 Oklahoma Interfaith Alliance Community Service Award, and the 2018 Communitas Excellence in Community Service Award. Apart from his work in the education field, Bryon is also a certified image consultant and a trainer for the London Image Institute, where he trains image consultants in personal and professional branding. Additionally, he has patented the Secure Pocket Square, a menswear accessory that holds a gentleman's pocket square firmly in his pocket and prevents shifting. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northwestern University and a Master of Education degree in Workforce Development and Training from the University of Oklahoma.
