Penny Rue
Penny Rue is a highly experienced and accomplished higher education professional with a passion for student affairs. She received her A.B. in English and Religion from Duke University before obtaining her M.A. in Student Personnel Work at The Ohio State University and Ph.D. in Counseling and Personnel Services at the University of Maryland College Park. Throughout her career, Rue has held numerous key positions in various universities, gaining rich expertise in student development, mental health, leadership, social justice education, MBTI, strategic planning, and sexual assault services and adjudication. Rue was the former Vice Chancellor-Student Affairs at the University of California, San Diego, and has also served as the Dean of Students at the University of Virginia, and as the Senior Associate Dean of Students at Georgetown University. She is currently the Vice President for Campus Life at Wake Forest University and an Adjunct Faculty at San Diego State University. Passionate about mentoring the next generation of Student Affairs professionals, Rue has also taught graduate courses in her field at several universities.
