Michael Zimmerman
Michael Zimmerman
Michael Zimmerman is a successful entrepreneur and investor with a passion for education and equal opportunity. He bought his first stock at the early age of seven and grew up to found his own company at 18. His professional journey led him to his current role as a leader in student placement at Lambda School, a tech academy backed by Google Ventures and dedicated to providing equal access to education and job opportunities.
At Lambda School, Michael's focus is on helping students from diverse backgrounds to secure entry-level tech roles in companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Stripe, and more. What makes Lambda School different is its unique payment model; students are not charged upfront for their education and only pay when they land a job.
Michael's dedication to equal opportunity is reflected in Lambda School's student body, which is comprised of 50% underrepresented students and 500 veterans in partnership. Lambda school has raised over $50 million in venture capital and is backed by a roster of industry leaders such as Geoff Lewis of Bedrock Capital, Google Ventures, Stripe, Ashton Kutcher (Sound Ventures), GGV Capital, Joe Montana, and more.
Born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, Michael's early exposure to entrepreneurship and investment sparked a lifelong passion for innovation and learning. He honed his operational excellence in the high-growth startup space, gained experience in strategic account development at Lambda School, and co-founded Swagger (Social Swagger, LLC).
