Baltimore-based entrepreneur and education policy expert, Jess Gartner, is the CEO and Founder of Allovue, a leading EdFinTech company aimed at empowering K-12 educators and enabling strategic and equitable allocation of financial resources. Apart from managing Allovue's operations, Jess has been a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
With a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Education, and Theatre from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's in Teaching from Johns Hopkins, Jess is a seasoned education professional who has travelled around the world, teaching and studying education policies. She has also taught middle school humanities in Baltimore City and served as a Teach for America Baltimore corps member.
Jess is a recipient of several notable awards, including 2014 Marylands SmartCEO Innovator of the Year in the Emerging Business category and the 2016 Maryland TEDCO Entrepreneur of the Year Award. She has also featured in Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 in Education, Baltimore Sun’s Women to Watch, Baltimore Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, and The Tech Edvocate’s Trailblazers in Edtech.
Beyond work, Jess enjoys singing show tunes, practicing yoga, and working on her annual Life Olympics goals.
