Eric Masanet
Eric Masanet is a highly accomplished mechanical engineering professional with years of work experience in multiple esteemed organizations, including UC Santa Barbara, International Energy Agency, Northwestern University, Elsevier, UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Caterpillar Inc. He studied his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by his Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University. Further, he pursued his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
He currently serves as a Professor and Mellichamp Chair of Sustainability Science for Emerging Technologies at UC Santa Barbara. Previously, he was a Research Advisory Board member for The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) and headed the Energy Demand Technology Unit at International Energy Agency. He also served as the Editor in Chief and Associate Editor for Resources, Conservation and Recycling at Elsevier.
Masanet holds extensive experience in research, engineering, design, and management, with a strong focus on sustainability science, emerging technologies, energy efficiency, and resource conservation. His expertise and skills encompass mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, sustainability science, energy demand technology, and more.
