Christen Dobson is a human rights practitioner with a focus on gender and environmental justice. She has 14 years of experience in program management, research, and resource mobilization. Dobson holds a bachelor's degree in International Studies, Japanese, and Spanish from Mount Union College, studied international politics and Japanese at Kansai Gaidai University, and received her master's degree in International Affairs with a specialty in Human Rights from Columbia University's SIPA.
Dobson's professional experience includes working as a Senior Project Lead and Researcher at the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre. She has also worked as a part-time program manager at The Hive Fund for Climate and Gender Justice, as an independent consultant focused on human rights, gender justice, and environmental justice, and as a consultant at The Hive Fund for Climate and Gender Justice. Additionally, she worked as a Gender Fellow at EarthRights International, a research consultant at Prospera: International Network of Women's Funds, and as a program director, research, and policy at the International Human Rights Funders Group.
Furthermore, Dobson has experience as a consultant on the Gender and Security Program at the Social Science Research Council, a graduate student consultant at the Association for the Development and Enhancement of Women, an intern, Ending Violence Against Women at United Nations Development Fund for Women, an Anti-Trafficking Program Intern at Safe Horizon and a Special Project Coordinator at The Project to End Human Trafficking. She has also worked as a Program Assistant at Global Youth Connect.
