Clay Phillips is an accomplished executive with a distinguished career in innovation, business development, strategic planning, and intelligence. With roots in the US Navy, Clay has gone on to become an accomplished advisor to startups, large enterprises, and nonprofits, focusing on applying lean innovation methodologies and intelligence principles to create a clear path to commercialization. He is a Mobility Technology Lead at Michigan Small Business Development Center and has served as a Founder and Principal at Crow's Nest Consulting, LLC. Clay was also Executive Advisor at SRI International and Vice President for Business Development & Key Accounts at LaunchPad Central. In his 20-year stint at General Motors Research & Development, he served in various leadership roles such as Director for Technology Commercialization & Technology and Energy Intelligence, Director for Strategy and Business Development, and Director for Intelligence, Alliance Strategy, and Global Planning. Clay holds an MBA from Columbia University - Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Trinity College-Hartford.
