Saleema Vellani is a successful entrepreneur, innovator, researcher, and author. With a Bachelor's degree in International Development from McGill University and a Master's degree in International Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, she has gone on to co-found nine ventures, including Brazil’s top-rated language school and a leading online translation agency. Saleema is the Founder and CEO of Ripple Impact, an accelerator and community that helps entrepreneurs take their businesses to the next level.

In addition to her work as an entrepreneur, Saleema is an accomplished researcher, co-leading an award-winning study at the World Bank on solving food insecurity in conflict-affected countries through climate-smart technologies. She has also contributed to impact evaluations and other research for various international organizations. Saleema is a sought-after keynote speaker, sharing her insights and experience on innovative leadership, entrepreneurship, and inclusive innovation. She has also authored several publications in international development and evaluation and regularly contributes to Forbes.

An Adjunct Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at University Startups and former Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship and Design Thinking at Johns Hopkins University, Saleema is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of leaders. She also serves as an advisory board member for SXSW and DC Net Impact and is involved in the Women's Alliance at Ismaili Professionals Network (IPN) and the Wonder Women Tech Foundation.
