Omi Velasco is a highly experienced business professional in the fields of technology, finance, telecommunications, and food & beverage. She has extended her skills and expertise to startups, SMEs, and large corporations in a range of countries, including Canada, the United States, Colombia, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates.

In 2019, Omi co-founded Aventrock Ventures, a family office venture fund that concentrates on investing in early-stage technology companies across Canada. She is also a Director at Valhalla Private Capital's M&A arm, Vario Ventures, which emerged from the entrepreneurial community in Western Canada.

Omi holds a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of Calgary, which included an amazing international exchange program in Sydney, Australia, at Macquarie University. She began her professional career supporting and leading cloud technology implementations enabled by SAP and ServiceNow at Deloitte's technology strategy consulting practice. Later on, she went on to support startup companies to explore new revenue streams and break into new markets.

Aside from her professional life, Omi is involved in several organizations, such as the Global Women in VC's Latam VC and Seed Stage groups, Mount Rundle Club, and the Canadian Women in VC. She is also an angel investor with Valhalla Angels.

Omi has a heart for adventure, having lived in five countries and visited more than thirty. She supports an orphanage in Colombia and is actively working with the founders to make the foundation more sustainable.
