Dr. David Duan

Dr. David Duan is a dynamic professional with a strong background in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI. With a decade of experience, he excels in strategizing and leading Data Science initiatives to enhance organizational capabilities and drive innovation.

David's expertise lies in establishing and managing successful Data Science functions, crafting strategic approaches to data utilization, incorporating Data Science into organizational workflows, and utilizing ML and AI for business enhancements and product development. He is known for his determination, ambition, and quick-witted approach.

David holds a PhD and a BSc with First Class Honours from The University of Auckland. He further augmented his skills by studying at The Wharton School, specializing in the Business Analytics Program.

Throughout his career, David held pivotal roles such as Director of Data Science & Analytics at Fraedom, Director of Data Science & Analytics at Visa, and Advanced Analytics Practice Lead & Principal Data Scientist at Mindfull NZ. Additionally, he contributed as an Advisory Board Member at Massey University and played a significant part in various organizations like Fonterra, Spark New Zealand, and Westpac New Zealand Limited, showcasing his diverse expertise.

David's rich academic background includes studies in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at the University of Auckland, where he pursued his PhD and BSc degrees. He contributed to the academic field as a Lecturer and Postdoc Research Fellow.
