Maria Romero
Maria Romero is a Journalist and Political Scientist who holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Master's degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Pittsburgh. She has served as a full professor at the School of International Studies at Universidad Central de Venezuela for over 27 years, where she taught courses such as Venezuelan foreign policy, American foreign policy towards Latin America, and contemporary world affairs. Maria also has extensive experience working on a variety of research projects, including the Institute of Ibero-American Studies at the University of Salamanca and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. In addition to her academic work, she has advised and analyzed numerous political institutions and has received several academic awards and scholarships.
Maria is the author of several books, including Politics Abroad, Venezuela Defending Its Democracy, and The Life of Simón Alberto Consalvi. She has also published articles in various specialized journals and is a regular contributor to several Venezuelan and international newspapers and media outlets. Currently, Maria is the Director of the Inter-American Institute for Democracy, a columnist for various media outlets such as El Universal, Infolatam and Panampost, and the host of Agenda Global, an opinion and interview program broadcasted by El Venezolano TV.
