As a math teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools, I have been recognized as a "Model Teacher" for leading students to significant academic growth, demonstrating excellent instructional methods, pursuing on-going professional development, and assuming school-wide leadership roles.  In addition to my own teaching, I have supported first and second year math teachers through ongoing cycles of observation, reflection, and goal-setting to improve instructional methods and student outcomes.  I have also •	implemented blended learning systems and computer-based performance tasks to meet the mathematical rigor and technological requirements of the Common Core.

As a facilitator at New Teacher Institute, I designed professional development sessions to equip new teachers with general and content specific instructional strategies needed to impact student achievement.  I also collaborated with district leaders and other facilitators to ensure that teachers received consistent messages and support throughout New Teacher Institute.

As the Content Learning Team Leader for high school math, I led a team of first and second year teachers in Baltimore City to work collaboratively to improve their instructional practices based upon areas of need that were cooperatively identified with a Teacher For America program director.  As part of this work, I created a scope and sequence of professional development sessions, moving from foundational skills to more specific and specialized topics throughout the school year.
