Leading JLT Re’s EMEA Strategic Advisory team to support reinsurance and specialty brokers and their clients in finding, formulating and executing their strategic objectives in relation to credit ratings, capital optimisation, franchise value, market entry (including Lloyd’s), restructuring initiatives and regulatory changes.

Key responsibilities:

Managerial responsibility for a team of industry experts to ensure a timely and accurate delivery of management consultancy projects in both reinsurance and specialty, including:

- Support financial services and corporate clients in achieving target credit and financial strength ratings, defend ratings, and obtain initial ratings. This includes advising clients  with regards to all aspects subject to rating agency scrutiny, including rating agency capital, enterprise risk management, operating performance, competitive positioning, financial flexibility, investment risk, sovereign constraints, parental support mechanisms etc.

- Advise clients with regards to optimal debt, capital and insurance and reinsurance structures in light of management, regulatory and rating agency demands. This includes using JLT Re’s proprietary Franchise Value model, rating agency models and provide advice on Solvency II capital requirements.

- Conduct Franchise Value assessments using JLT Re’s proprietary model to ensure clients gain a comprehensive overview of the impact different (re)insurance structures can have on their prospective market value.

- Support clients in their market entry initiatives, by line of business and geography, across the EMEA region. This predominantly includes support in drafting and validating business plans and formulating and confirming market entry strategies (including Lloyd’s).

Leading PwC’s financial services ratings advisory proposition and supporting the Insurance Regulatory team in restructuring and capital optimisation projects.

Key responsibilities:

- Support financial services and corporate clients in achieving target credit and financial strength ratings, defend ratings, and obtain initial ratings

- Advise financial services clients with regards to all aspects subject to rating agency scrutiny, including rating agency capital, enterprise risk management, operating performance, competitive positioning, financial flexibility, investment risk, sovereign constraints, parental support mechanisms etc.

- Advise clients with regards to optimal debt and capital structures

- Review and provide advice on clients' own internal credit risk frameworks and rating methodologies for debt and structured finance instruments

- Advise clients on rating and regulatory impacts stemming from group restructures, acquisitions, mergers, changes to capital structures, LBOs, MBOs, changes to business plans etc.

Senior Manager - Insurance Restructuring, Capital Optimisation and Ratings Advisory

Analytical and managerial responsibility for a portfolio of non-life and life (re)insurance companies in the United Kingdom, Europe (France and Belgium) and South Africa.
Playing a primary role in Fitch’s coverage of the UK non-life insurance market, leading the publication of several market reports and speaking regularly at Fitch’s and external industry events.

Key responsibilities:

- Credit rating analysis covering London market, Company market and South African insurance companies

- Model capital adequacy in Fitch’s Prism Factor Based Model and evaluated deleveraging profiles in Fitch’s cash flow model

- Responding to sector and issuer-related investor and press queries in a timely and professional manner

- Participate in investor round tables

- Involvement in credit work outside of insurance – Leverage finance and banks

- Prepare and present industry research at Fitch’s public events; conferences, teleconferences

- Conduct rating committees and oversee the preparation of rating committee presentations

Key responsibilities:

- Preparation of detailed rating analysis based on A.M. Best’s rating criteria

- Prepare and conduct rating committees

- Responding to market developments or potential rating events

- Producing analysis and support research on different industry topics

Primary contact for all equity and credit analyst and rating agency enquiries (Standard & Poor's, Fitch, A.M. Best). Educate and update the investment community and other interested parties about the Corporation and the Lloyd’s Market.

Key responsibilities:

- Building and maintaining effective relationships with each of the key stakeholder groups

- Addressing stakeholder queries, providing relevant information and analysis on a timely basis

- Managing and coordinating annual management meetings and ad-hoc meetings with the rating agencies, interim and annual results presentations, ensuring effective and efficient communication of messages to key audiences

- Planning and coordinating visits by security analysts and debt investors

- Preparation of Lloyd’s peer group analysis involving analysis of key performance indicators and tracking of Lloyd's performance against its peers

Senior Analyst - Ratings and Investor Relations

Acquiring an insight into the work and responsibilities of investor and rating agency relations and understanding of (re)insurance companies’ business.

Key responsibilities

- Analysing competitors’ quarterly figures and providing capital-market feedback for the Board

- Macro programming in Excel for the development of various tools to facilitate data analyses

- Assisting in the organisation of roadshows and conferences

- Providing assistance in developing partial modules of the internal monthly management report on the market’s perception of Munich Re

- Time spent in Munich Ergo Asset Management (MEAG’s) Investment Reporting department
