Robert McGarry

Robert McGarry is a seasoned entrepreneur and mentor with a background in B. Eng from McGill University. He has been actively involved in three early stage start-ups, including Race Technologies, Vienna Systems, and Adaia, two of which were acquired by industry giants like Racal and Nokia. Robert specializes in providing advice and mentorship to start-ups and SMEs.

Currently, Robert is serving as a Program Advisor for the International Team at the National Research Council Canada. Previously, he held roles such as Client Engagement Advisor, Interim Regional Lead, and Team Lead at NRC-IRAP. He has also been a Product Design Advisory Panel member at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. In addition, Robert has volunteered as a Mentor at Launch Academy and Innovate BC, bringing his wealth of experience to support budding entrepreneurs.

With a rich work history at Nokia, Robert has held key positions such as Director of Program Management and Technology, Director of Research and Development, and Product Program Manager. His tenure at Nokia also saw him serving as the CTO and Co-founder of ADAIA INC. Furthermore, Robert was the Director of Research and Development at Vienna Systems, showcasing his expertise in technology and innovation management.
