Ross Hunter

Ross Hunter is an accomplished public servant and former chair of the Appropriations Committee for Washington State, where he was responsible for the state's budget. He recently founded the Department of Children, Youth, and Families as its first Secretary, a daunting task but one that he considers a great honor. Prior to this role, Hunter served as the Director of the Department of Early Learning and was a State Representative for the Washington State Legislature.

Hunter studied Computer Science at Yale University and attended high school at George School. He is also a former Fellow of the World Affairs Council Seattle and has served as Chair for the Washington State Economic and Revenue Forecast Council and Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee.

Throughout his career, Hunter has been actively contributing to government-related organizations, including serving as a Trustee for Bellevue College and being a former member of the Information Services Board, which was responsible for overseeing IT investments of Washington State government.
