Luis Canizo is a seasoned entrepreneur with a wealth of experience in technology-based start-ups, private equity investments in emerging countries, real estate financing and development, and social housing programs. He studied Civil Engineering in Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and went on to pursue dual MSc degrees in RE Development & Finance and City Design at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds an MSRED in Real Estate Development, an Advanced Negotiations course in Real Properties, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Luis' current focus is on eHealth and Medical Decision Support, Electronic Prescription, and EHR technologies, which he believes is ripe for disruption in emerging countries. He is the Cofounder and COO of iDoctus, a company that leverages technology for improving healthcare and medical decision support across Latin America. Previously, Luis served as the Director Gerente at Operador Nacional de Recetas Médicas, responsible for the management and implementation of electronic prescriptions in Spain. He also co-founded and served as the Country Manager of Despegar.com, a leading online travel agency in Spain and Portugal.

Prior to his technology-sector exploits, Luis also contributed significantly as a real estate investment professional with Phoenix Realty Group and as a Founder and Director of Prasetya Iberia Real Estate Development.

Throughout his career, Luis has demonstrated exceptional leadership and management skills, enabling him to thrive in intense corporate environments such as Grupo Ferrovial and United Technologies Corporation.
