Gabriel Engel is the innovative CEO and co-founder of Rocket.Chat, a leading open-source communication platform for team collaboration. He is a well-versed entrepreneur and has a passion for collaboration tools, new technology, and open-source software. Gabriel obtained his BBA in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and prior to that, he studied at Colégio Anchieta in Porto Alegre.

Gabriel founded Rocket.Chat in 2015 with the goal of replacing email with a real-time federated communications platform. Its user-friendly system allows for secure and customizable communication options on web, desktop, or mobile devices with both Self-Managed and SaaS options. Moreover, Rocket.Chat Marketplace, launched in September 2018, provides access to a range of plugins, themes, and integrations with other key software for easy customization of the platform.

Gabriel has an extensive work history encompassing senior web development, project management, and telecommunications. Before founding Rocket.Chat, Gabriel was the Co-Founder & CEO at Konecty and held several Product Manager roles at Vodafone Global Enterprise. He also co-founded and was the CEO at FGsys.com, Intelimen, and Planejar Informatica E Certificacao. Gabriel's vision for Rocket.Chat is to provide a secure and efficient means of communication without the need for email.
