Fazil Osman is a distinguished engineer with over 30 years of technical and business leadership experience in the fields of semiconductors, systems, storage, and networking. He has a proven track record of identifying new requirements for data center networking technology and driving marketing and engineering teams to deliver on trends. Some of his accomplishments include being the designer of the first commercial single chip Ethernet switch and Cisco's first switch, the Catalyst 1200. He has also defined Broadcom's open switch API strategy for SDN, defined the first open OCP switch with a standard Linux development environment, and defined Broadcom's strategy for SSD disaggregation in the data center and its role in NVMe over Fabrics. His interests include data center networking, large-scale distributed application networking, machine learning networking and clustering, as well as heterogeneous networking for servers, GPUs, FPGAs, and ASICs. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Electronics from The University of Edinburgh. Osman has held various leadership positions such as the Technical Director of Switch Software Strategy at Broadcom and the Founder and CEO of OsmanTEK LLC.
