Sean Mountcastle is an accomplished software engineering leader with over 20 years of experience in telecommunications and the internet. He has worked with large enterprises, government agencies, and start-ups, leading and coaching high-performing teams in highly competitive environments. Sean has a strong background in developing highly reliable, highly available telecom systems, and scalable critical internet infrastructure. Along with leading teams, Sean is adept at software development with expertise in both front-end and back-end software development, with a particular focus on systems software.

Sean's professional experience includes serving as Vice President of Product Engineering for Verisign, where he was previously the Senior Director and Director of Infrastructure Engineering. He also served as a Senior Engineering Manager at Verisign, leading the development of highly available telecom systems. Before joining Verisign, Sean worked as a Technical Leader at Cisco Systems, Inc., and as a Research Scientist at the Naval Research Lab.

Sean's education includes a Masters of Science in Computer Science from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The Catholic University of America.
