Resuscitation quality improvement initiatives are critical to saving lives of in-hospital cardiac arrest patients. Responsibilities include advancing the American Heart Association’s mission through the planning, management and implementation of balanced campaigns in collaboration with internal and external volunteers and other partners in achieving overall division and affiliate goals.  This includes ensuring that division revenue goals are achieved, active collaboration in driving towards Affiliate Revenue and Health Impact Goals and effectively engaging volunteers and staff across functional areas.

Responsible for the identification, recruitment, orientation, training, and retention of medical and non-medical volunteer leadership.  Develops and provides overall staff support to a countywide Board of Directors.  The result should be a group with sufficient community influence and personal affluence so that ample funds can be raised to assure the viability of the American Heart Association.

Has bottom-line accountability for achieving successful balanced campaigns across core markets, Workplace Giving, and Individual Giving.

Responsible for the overall operations of the field office, including coordination of planning consistent with the Affiliate’s direction; recommendation, monitoring, and control of a cost center budget; personnel administration for non-exempt staff; and assuring adherence to administrative procedure and AHA policy.  Authorizes certain appropriate and allowable expenses.

Implements AHA and Affiliate policies and standards, and interprets them to the Division Board of Directors, other volunteers, the public, staff, and other groups, individuals, or organizations.  Recommends operational changes or management approaches needed to enhance the operational, fund raising, communications, program, advocacy, and administrative efficiency of the office.

As the Senior Director of Business Development and Career Services I am responsible for the strategic direction of the Business Development and Career Services departments for DCEC. I directly supervise 2 Senior Regional Directors, National Trainer and 2 Employer Engagement Directors. Additionally, I serve as Regional Director for our 6 Online and non-traditional campuses. Furthermore, I am responsible for driving revenue through Business to Business partnerships by developing new curriculum, scholarship opportunities, developing and implementing campaigns for the Delta Scholarship Fund and driving enrolments via employer based tuition reimbursement programs.

In this role I monitor, reviews and analyze career services metrics, identifies performance opportunities and delivers feedback and training designed to improve job order and externship conversions. The Senior Director, Regional Career Services assists schools in meeting and/or exceeding its placement goals, employer engagement and revenue goals as appropriate and strategic objectives while ensuring adherence to institutional, state, and federal guidelines.

As the Sr. Director of Career Services for Online I have the opportunity to work with Career Services teams across our enterprise to engage staff in our mission to Change Futures and Change Lives. I also work to develop and implement online processes and programs which provide a wide variety of services to our students enabling them to prepare for and obtain employment in their chosen field of study. These services need to be available to them wherever they are and whenever they are needed.

I contact and visit potential employers, plan and implement local job fairs, and participate in community events to develop employment opportunities for graduates. The Director of Career Services assists students in learning effective job search techniques, resume preparation, interviewing techniques, following-up with prospective employers, and understanding acceptable work ethics.  The Director of Career Services serves on the campus management team and maintains student employment records to comply with State, Federal and Accreditation standards

As the Circulation Retention Manager I oversee both the inbound customer service functions as well as our inhouse outbound telemarketing/retention functions. This department was reopened in July of 2009 and currently operates as a cross-functional enterprise which encompases circulation home delivery, billing and sales.

As the department manager I am responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, coaching and leading a team of two supervisors and approximately 20 full and part-time representatives.

I have also taken over responsibilities for our Newspapers in Education program which promotes literacy through providing both print and electronic replicas of the daily paper to students, schools and organizations throughout southern Arizona.
