Peggy Shepard
Peggy Shepard is an accomplished environmental justice advocate and community leader. She has a strong educational background, having obtained a high school diploma from Solebury and a degree in English from Howard University. Her passion for advocacy led her to co-found WE ACT for Environmental Justice, where she currently serves as the Executive Director. Prior to this, she was the Women's Outreach Coordinator at the NYC Comptroller's Office.
Throughout her career, Peggy has been committed to highlighting the impact of environmental injustice on marginalized communities and empowering individuals and communities to take action. She has been widely recognized for her contributions, including receiving the Jane Jacobs Medal for Lifetime Leadership in 2020.
