Robert Schaul is a seasoned expert in foreign interference and illicit cyber activities, currently serving as the Analysis and Resilience Policy Lead for countering foreign influence at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Schaul holds a Juris Doctor degree in International Law and Legal Studies, a master's degree in International Relations and Affairs, and a bachelor's degree in International and Comparative Politics. He is also a member of the Maryland Bar and holds a CISSP certification.
Schaul's impressive background includes leadership roles on national-level campaigns and elections, as well as international experience with proficiency in French. He specializes in counter malign influence activities related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and has created innovative tools for countering disinformation, such as War on Pineapple and Harmony Square.
Prior to his current role, Schaul served as a Cyber-Infrastructure Analyst and a Strategy, Policy, and Planning expert at the National Protection and Programs Directorate. he also worked at the US Department of State as an International Law Observer and at the Democratic National Committee as Voter Protection Legal Support.
Schaul was also a Research Associate at Gomero y Castillo Associados Sac. Estudio Juridico, where he researched legal issues related to local and international law. In addition, he possesses experience as a head chef at Amex. Café and as a manager at CVS Caremark Corporation.
