Joshua Buswell-Charkow is an experienced environmental organizer, campaigns director, and executive director with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Wesleyan University. He worked with Green Corps, the nation’s leading fellowship program for aspiring changemakers, for 12 years, starting in 2003. In 2012 he was appointed the executive director after serving as the campaigns director since 2010. He led campaigns in every aspect of the program, including finding, recruiting, and managing staff, raising diverse funds, and soliciting clients to hire Green Corps campaign teams. Buswell-Charkow's endeavors resulted in diversifying their client base, developing a new "structured interview" system, and raising more funds than ever before. Before his tenure in Green Corps, he played a vital role in advocacy efforts, including persuading a large catalog distributor to stop sourcing paper from endangered forests and designating new wilderness areas. Currently, he works as the Campaign Director for the California Solar & Storage Association.
